The Faculty of Fine Arts of Pontevedra (Facultad de Bellas Artes de Pontevedra) was founded in 1990 and is the only faculty of fine arts in Galicia and the northwestern part of Spain, giving it a unique position in the region’s higher-education and artistic landscape.

The faculty plays a key role in the artistic scene of Pontevedra and the wider Atlantic-European cultural network, with activities, exhibitions and collaborations that connect students with contemporary artistic debates. 

It has been recognized in national contexts as one of the notable fine arts faculties in Spain (rankings have placed it within the top five at times), reflecting strong academic quality and close student–faculty engagement.
